These are just a few of the many and varied phobias that can affect anyone, at any time.

Whatever has caused your phobia, we can help you to make positive, long lasting changes and regain control of your life – often in just a few sessions.

A phobia could be a fear of one thing, such as snakes, or a more complex fear such as agoraphobia (a fear of open or crowded spaces) or social phobia (fear of social situations).

When you’re faced with your phobia, your brain perceives it as an immediate life threatening event. Your amygdala, the ‘fight or flight’ neurons in your brain linked to fear responses, takes over. You may experience physical symptoms such as nausea, shaking or increased heart rate and quickly remove yourself from the situation.

These fear responses can be useful when faced with a genuine life threatening situation, but frustrating when they become a phobia – an irrational response that stops you living your life the way you want to.

At In Mind UK we practice Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, an effective combination of neuroscience, cognitive behavioural therapy and hypnosis.

At your session, your hypnotherapist will gently ease you into hypnosis, a deeply relaxed state of focused attention that opens up your powerful subconscious mind.

We’ll help you take back control so you can do the things you want to do, whether it’s relaxing on a plane while jetting off to your dream destination or clearing out the garden shed!

Here are some of the many phobias we can help with:

Arachnophobia – fear of spiders
Acrophobia – fear of heights
Agoraphobia – fear of open or crowded spaces
Cynophobia – fear of dogs
Claustrophobia – fear of small spaces
Aerophobia – fear of flying
Nyctophobia – fear of the dark
Podophobia – fear of feet
Apiphobia – fear of bees

And many, many more – all of which can be helped with hypnotherapy.
